Photo captioned "Public Library Fairhope, Ala." It shows the first building constructed specifically for the Fairhope Public Library. It was built to house the library collection that originally started, in 1909, on the porch of Marie Howland's home on Summit Street in Fairhope. Marie Howland was the founder and first librarian of the Fairhope Public Library.
